My day, my night

Is there a difference between day and night?  Each day, each time leaves a wealth of information that is passable to the next person, next day, next time.  But where should we record it?  Where should we save it?  Where will it be saved.  Who will remember.  Will it matter.  Will this day come again.  How many days is this. How many.  why, why, why, why.......  done.
